Michael J. Marion, M.D., an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hand
surgery at Orthopaedic Associates, was inducted as a fellow of the American
Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) during ceremonies at the Academy's
67th annual meeting in Orlando, Florida, in March.
The Academy is the largest medical association for musculoskeletal
specialists. Its members have completed medical school plus at least five
years of specialty study in orthopaedics in an accredited residency
program, passed a comprehensive oral and written exam, and been certified
by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Congratulations, Dr. Marion.

Orthopaedic Associates was designated a "Better Performer" in a national
survey conducted by the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA). This
national medical practice organization, with a membership of more than
20,000 practices nationwide, rated data compiled in a national survey which
compared Orthopaedic Associates data against orthopaedic practices
nationwide. The survey gave Orthopaedic Associates its highest rating in
the following performance areas: Productivity, Capacity and Staffing.

Dr. David F. Dalury, orthopaedic surgeon at Orthopaedic Associates, is
serving his third year as a member of the Arthritis Foundation, Maryland
Chapter, Board of Directors. James G. Linz, Orthopaedic Associates' C.E.O.
has been elected to serve as President of the Orthopaedic Practice
Assembly, Medical Group Management Association, an organization of 700
orthopaedic managers from around the country.

One of many e-mails we receive from our patients:
Dear Dr. McAfee,
You have given my youngest brother, Louis Meixner, the best birthday
present he could ever have wished for. Through your help, guidance and
surgery he is looking forward
to a normal, active life once again. His smiling face is testimony enough
that you have truly helped him. I am so grateful that dedicated doctors,
such as you, are here to help.
Thanks again,
Arlene Satz
