Here is important information to make your next visit go smoothly:
Registration
All new patients must register when they come in for their first visit. At this time, we ask you to give us information that allows us to contact you and to process your bill. We also re-register patients returning every 6 months, more frequently if you have new problems, or if any information should change. Make sure you bring your insurance cards and picture I.D.
Payment Policy/Insurance
We appreciate payment of your co-payments for services at the time they are rendered. We participate in most area insurance plans, HMO's and PPO's. If you insurance requires a referral, it is your responsibility to make sure the referral is obtained at the time of the appointment or the appointment will need to be rescheduled. |
St. Joseph Medical Center Named Best in Orthopaedics
A recent study says that St. Joseph Medical Center tops the list of area hospitals in orthopaedics. The rankings, compiled by HCIA Inc., a Baltimore health data company, used Medicare billing data to examine such areas as mortality, staffing ratio and market share. Orthopaedic Associates founder, Dr. Raymond Lenhard, created the Department of Orthopaedics at St. Joseph Hospital in 1927 and served as its first Chief of Orthopaedics for 40 years. Dr. John Fahey, a just recently retired member of Orthopaedic Associates, served as the second chief until 1995, when Dr. Kenneth Gertsen, our current president, became the third Chief of Orthopaedics. Orthopaedic Associates is the principle orthopaedic practice at St. Joseph Medical Center, performing more than 80% of all orthopaedic surgery at the hospital.
Battling Back Pain...
Dr. Fedder was interviewed by both the Baltimore Sun and Channel 2 News for stories focusing on preventing back pain.
And Foot Pain
Improper shoe fit can be the cause of foot pain. Dave Barringer, a physical therapist, orthotics expert and certified athletic trainer at Towson Sports Medicine, recently evaluated proper shoe fit for employees at St. Joseph Medical Center.
