| Susan sustained
a stroke several years ago and was left quadriparetic.
However, since then she has obtained a Master's
Degree and Ph.D. in molecular biology. She communicates
by keyboard. The 60-mile bike race was not her only
amazing physical feat. A few years ago, she scaled
a 200-foot Colorado cliff. She plans another bike
race this summer. |

| Orthopaedic Associates' patient Susan Yim continues
to amaze us. She sent Dr. Bruce Wolock, her orthopaedic
surgeon, who has treated her shoulder problems, this postcard
of a picture taken during a 60-mile bike race in Salisbury,
Maryland. Susan was encouraged to enter the event and
with the help of family, friends and a specially adapted
tandem bike she took on the challenge. "I was very determined
to do my best, but I didn't know how far my best would
be," wrote Yim. She awed everyone when she completed the
60-mile trek a few hours later. |
