Orthopaedic Associates is pleased to announce the addition of three nurse practitioners to its patient care staff.

What Services Do Nurse Practitioners Provide?
A nurse practitioner is a registered nurse who serves as a health care provider for children and adults. In order to provide complete health care, nurse practitioners:

  • Obtain medical histories and perform physical examinations
  • Diagnose and treat acute health problems such as infections and injuries
  • Prescribe medications and other treatments
  • Provide health maintenance care for adults, including annual physicals
  • Promote positive health behaviors and self- care skills through education and counseling
  • Collaborate with physicians and other health professional as needed


Mary Jo Holloran graduated in 1980 from the St. Joseph Medical Center School of Nursing. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at George Mason University in Virginia, and her nurse practitioner training at the College of Notre Dame. Mary Jo Holloran is a certified Adult Nurse Practitioner, and specializes in general orthopaedics.

Kathy Mulford received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland. She completed her post graduate nurse practitioner education at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing.


She is certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner and works primarily with spine problems and general orthopaedics.

Roseann P. Velez graduated from New York University in 1988 with a Masters degree in Nursing Administration. She completed her nurse practitioner training at the University of Maryland. Roseann P. Velez is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and specializes in general orthopaedics.
